Baths

Saturday 2 November

With Toro Y Moi and Washed Out, Baths was part of the great Chill Wave of the early 10’s, but his music has come a long way since. Which is no surprise considering that Will Wiesenfeld, the Los Angeles based musician behind Baths, came close to biting some dust between his first album, 2010’s Cerulean, and his newly released second album Obsidian. Wiesenfeld spent months in bed, sick with E. Coli, unable to eat or get up. As he got better, all the frustrations and fears that had plagued him during his sickness were channelled into his music. Yet, his bright patchwork pop is still infused with a thousand ideas and melodies, confirming that Baths is one of this generation’s most brilliant minds.
