Having taken a sabbatical with his divine dance-orientated side project Daphni in 2012, Canadian musician Daniel Snaith is back in business with Caribou. And with the band’s last album still marked as one of the best creations of the 2010’s, there remains a lot of work to be done. Released 4 years ago, “Swim” was a blending of Deep-House hits, Electronica, and Pop, leading Snaith far from the shores of his original psychedelic-pop. The stuff of legends that keeps us begging for more. And the Ontario-born music-smith, 2008 alumni of the Polaris prize (the Canadian equivalent to the French “Prix Constantin”), has a knack for expanding the limits of his live performances. On his last tour, he was accompanied by ten musicians, including live collaborations with Four Tet or members of the legendary Arkestra, the band of cosmic-crazy genius Sun Ra. For the last part of 2014, get with the Caribou program, or go home.
