Montreal, the wild child of indie rock, has once again proven that it is an endless source of pure ingenuity with it’s latest alumni. Mac Demarco grew up in the midlands of Edmonton, only starting his career upon reaching the big town. He started releasing tracks under his own name in 2012, with blends of clever surf pop and psychedelic rock. But DeMarco’s real strength is his ability to create lovable characters and story driven plots, capturing them in a 3 minute bubble. He is one of those great songwriters who will leave a lasting mark on the musical world, with no little thanks to his street urchin charisma and falsely dilettante airs that work miracles with the crowds.
