Sumney grew up partly in North Carolina, and partly in Ghana, quietly but not unproductively. At the ripe old age of 20, he moved to Los Angeles for his studies, where he started writing beautiful, hypnotically multilayered soul-folk songs with his crystal clear voice. On an old 4-track recorder, lent to him by TV on The Radio’s Dave Sitek, Moses recorded his first EP, laying the foundations of an ambitious career. And hopefully, Paris is part of his ambitions.
