Grande Halle de la Villette,
Thursday 31st October 2013
Last year, the festival welcomed James Blake, who had sent the audience into trance states. This year, his very good friends Kai Campos and Dominic Maker, otherwise known as Mount Kimbie, are promising to do even better. They all met around their common passion for the emerging dubstep scene, and have all come a long way since then. Mount Kimbie has moved away from heavy basses, recording sound bits from everyday life, adding guitars and other more traditional instruments to create unique soundscapes. Their smart and dreamy electronica, like a painting masterpieces, takes hold of you, and its subtlety is not diminished by the occasional forays into Pop music they allow themselves.
